Clinical Research Coordinator, MetroHealth
Josh Kratz, Project Coordinator for Positive Peers, has long been an advocate for youth and the HIV community. Interested in the intersection between public health and community development, Josh has served with organizations around the globe to improve the lives of marginalized youth. In recent years, he has worked to improve and innovate HIV prevention and care programs across Greater Cleveland. Josh is joined today by his amazing mentor and supervisor, Jen McMillen-Smith. They are excited and honored to be sharing Positive Peers, their award winning social app, with all of you, Ohio’s young leaders.
Positive Peers: The Mobile Community for Young People Living with HIV
Positive Peers is a mobile-app available at MetroHealth. The app was designed by young positive people for young positive people. It features information, social networking, and self-management tools to support HIV-related, holistic care.
We will share the story of the app’s creation, the continuing role of our youth in driving app and content development, examples of our award-winning content, and updates on where the project currently stands. We hope to engage attendees in discussion on the importance of positive youth leadership, the success and short comings of Positive Peers, and in strategies to reach out of care YPLWH.
